| Here is more to something I posted earlier!- Spoiler:
This
was yet another great crossroads in my life, whether I should heed
the words of the self proclaimed “guardian of time” or continue
on and show the world my research as planned? I stood there pondering
for a moment and then I crumpled up the sticky note. “For the
moment I'll just keep my findings locked away in my safe,” I
decided, wondering what I had been like in the alternate reality that
I had created. Was I famous, was I an actress, was I poor... was I
dead? I could have been any of these things and many others... But
then, curiosity took over, so I decided that there was no way I would
ever destroy my research, and as long as no one else ever found out,
there wouldn't be a problem. I could wait revealing my research. This
remained so until just over a week past the incident. One morning I
woke up, as usual, and went to my closet to change, but as soon as I
opened the door, a hand reached for me and pulled me into the dark
closet and shut the door.
“Why
didn't you destroy the research like I told you, Rose?”
Relieved
that I recognized the voice I replied, “I want to know what I was
like in that alternate reality.”
“You
were a popular girl at school who preformed ballet and eventually
went into just regular dance and when you are twenty five you had
earned a job preforming on Broadway. Now destroy that research.”
“Not
a chance, If thats who I was there, then I want to go there instead.
I live a much more interesting life in that time line than I do in
this one.”
“No,
you can't do that.”
“Why
not?”
“Did
you ever learn how I became the guardian of time?”
“No,
but what's that got to do with this?”
“When
you learn that, you will understand why the time line must be
preserved.” A loud noise is heard from outside of her room; the
guardian knows what has happened. “Oh no, they've got it.”
“They
who? Got what?”
“The
research that you didn't destroy. Some people who want to change the
world now have your research for time travel, Rose.”
“And
why is that a bad thing? Isn't change good?”
“Just
wait a second.”
And
just as he said this, the room suddenly went bright white and
everything disappeared, but the guardian's hand still clutched hers.
As soon as the colors came back, I could finally see the guardian's
face. He had dark, dark, brown hair with sincere brown eyes and….
And any way the present had changed. I turned to the guardian
immediately looking for an answer to an unspoken question as we now
stood in a dark alleyway and everything as I knew it had changed.
“Its
worse than last time” the guardian said, staring dumbfounded down
the alley.
