Wise Words
When you are describing,

A shape, or sound, or tint;

Don't state the matter plainly,

But put it in a hint;

And learn to look at all things,

With a sort of mental squint.

~Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Lewis Carroll)

Today, I went to go see this fairly new film called "Midnight in Paris," which despite having a star-filled cast including Rachel McAddams, Owen Wilson, and Kathy Bates, I knew very little about the film before entering the theater. It turned out to be quite the adventure, however. The basic storyline that you can't find anywhere else is that a man named Gil (Owen Wilson) goes with his fiancee, Inez (Rachel McAddams), and her family on a business trip to Paris. Gil is quite in love with everything about Paris, unlike his fiancee, and one night he takes a midnight stroll by himself that takes him on a bigger journey than he had planned. He ends up traveling to Paris of the 1920's, the era that Gil wishes he could have lived in the most, and meets several different famous and not-so-famous people of the era. In the end, Gil realizes that he needs to make some changes in both his life as well as his way of thinking. I highly recommend seeing this film.
